Dr Ravi Suppiah

Dr Suppiah is a New Zealand trained rheumatologist, with further specialist fellowship training in the United Kingdom (Oxford). He is experienced in diagnosing and treating all forms of rheumatic complaints as well as being uniquely skilled in discriminating chronic injury from inflammatory disease. He routinely uses ultrasound for diagnostic purposes, guided injection and to track disease activity.

Dr Suppiah is involved in leading research locally and internationally, and is a regular invited speaker at major international conferences. He holds post graduate degrees in sports medicine and a doctorate in systemic vasculitis.

He is the current clinical lead for the rheumatology service at Auckland District Health Board, a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and is involved in supervising the training of future rheumatologists.  He is also regularly involved in up skilling general practitioners in Auckland.

He is a contributing member of the New Zealand Rheumatology Association and the Rheumatology Audit Partnership New Zealand. He is on the board of governors or as a trustee of various philanthropic trusts and scholarships.
